It seems to me the body becomes abstract art in this masterful study. There are three masses: The head, the arms and shoulders, and the hips and thighs. Starting from the head and receeding to the hips and thighs, the shapes become increasingly abstract. If our brain did not insist, “This must be her hip”, what would we see?
