Last year was a reasonably good year for me — except for blogging. My blogging fell way off after I gave up smoking the year before and it did not begin to recover until September or so of last year.
Then, around Thanksgiving, I began to feel the Winter Blahs and slacked off again. So, in sum it wasn’t much of a year for me so far as this blog is concerned (although I otherwise have almost nothing in my life to complain about).
So, this morning, I find the sweet folks at WordPress have sent me, and presumably every other WordPress blogger, an official email of encouragement. And — surprise! — they ranked my blog’s overall health rather highly:
They also sent along some stats that make my “off year” seem a little better than it felt:
“The Louvre Museum has 8.5 million visitors per year. This blog was viewed about 120,000 times in 2010. If it were an exhibit at The Louvre Museum, it would take 5 days for that many people to see it.”
“In 2010, you wrote 144 new posts, growing the total archive of this blog to 1410 posts.”
So thank you, folks at WordPress. That was kind of fun.
