Paul’s Daily Half-Dozen for September 1, 2018

What do you do to wake yourself up on days when it’s hard to wake up?

What wild animal makes the most interesting sound?

Did you ever have a reputation for something that was wholly unjustified?

What was the most daring thing you’ve ever done that you’re willing to admit to?

Do you make it a habit to kill spiders and/or other bugs you find in your house?

Dawn or dusk?  Which of the two do you prefer?

    Go to the loo

What wild animal makes the most interesting sound?
Bellbirds – they sound like tinkling bells

Did you ever have a reputation for something that was wholly unjustified?
    Me? No, no, never 🙂

What was the most daring thing you’ve ever done that you’re willing to admit to?
Climb the first 3 rungs of a ladder leading to the highest fire tower tree in Australia. terrified of heights 🙂

Do you make it a habit to kill spiders and/or other bugs you find in your house?
Never – I lovingly snare and release them, Unless they are ants. Then I am a ruthless murderer

Dawn or dusk? Which of the two do you prefer?
Dusk – I could love dawn. I DO love dawn. But I love my bed more

  2. What do you do to wake yourself up on days when it’s hard to wake up?
Most days I have a very loud alarm clock, which makes it very easy to wake up

What wild animal makes the most interesting sound?
The way foxes scream, sounds almost human

Did you ever have a reputation for something that was wholly unjustified?
No, not that I know of. Well, for some reason, some people once started to think that I was a drug dealer. It wasn’t a reputation or anything, but it was very unjustified.

What was the most daring thing you’ve ever done that you’re willing to admit to?
Swim in the ocean when there was a shark warning going around. But that’s not daring, just plain stupid.

Do you make it a habit to kill spiders and/or other bugs you find in your house?
    No, I just ignore them

Dawn or dusk? Which of the two do you prefer?
Dawn. To me it signifies the potential of new possibilities and new opportunities. The sunrise it also very peaceful to watch. When the rest of the world is sleeping, it feels like a very personal and sacred moment.

  3. What do you do to wake yourself up on days when it’s hard to wake up? – Try to get up through sheer will power. If it doesn’t work, i go back to bed and feel the consequences of my actions later 😀

What wild animal makes the most interesting sound? – The howling of wolves

Did you ever have a reputation for something that was wholly unjustified? – Not that i recall.

What was the most daring thing you’ve ever done that you’re willing to admit to? – I used to occasionally steal stuff from my classmates.

Do you make it a habit to kill spiders and/or other bugs you find in your house? – Yes i do kill them, though always regret it.

Dawn or dusk? Which of the two do you prefer? – Dusk.

    1. I’m checking the Australian statute of limitations on theft from classmates even as we speak, Teresums!

I like wolves too. Ever since reading Barry Lopez’s remarkable book, “Of Wolves and Men”.

  4. Waking up is no problem — trouble falling asleep keeps me awake.
    My wife.
Everything I do is justified (except this comment, for which I plead temporary(?) insanity.
I admit to nothing. Hey, it works for Trump (so far).
I don’t kill novelist spiders because I get all wrapped up in the tangled webs they weave. The rest I spare, because I care.
Dusk. A girl named Dawn once told me to go to hell. Since then, sunrise never dawned on me.

    probably.

i went into a haunted orphanage. oh! and i decided to leave an abusive ex to raise four children by myself.

no! i usually only kill parasites…& houseflies…but i sometimes just take them outside as well.

  6. Ok, one question: “Do you make it a habit to kill spiders and/or other bugs you find in your house?” I kill mosquitoes and maybe flies if they bother me in the house. As to spiders and other bugs, I just shout out to my hubby, “Steve! there’s a spider! (or whatever)” and he (kindhearted nature lover that he is) ushers it outside. Otherwise, I probably WOULD have a habit of killing spiders/bugs.
