Paul’s One Big Question for October 28, 2018

Is love teachable?  Can we be taught to love?  Or to love better and truer?

  1. This is a really interesting but very complicated question. Our defences, memories etc is a huge issue and they interfere a lot. Then there is the issue of compatibility! Which I believe, if it’s not there, trying to love better is a waste of time.

  2. Such interesting and tricky questions you ask, Paul! Setting aside the whole complication of defining “love” for the purposes of this question, I will answer it this way:

I believe it’s possible to be “taught” how to EXPRESS love better – more openly, honestly, and without judgement or expectation. And by doing so, I believe we “learn” to love better…

      1. Sadly, many do not feel they are lovable or worthy of being loved due to – well, a whole lot of reasons. Low self esteem, being told over and over that they are ugly/fat/worthless, being abused, having a skewed understanding/experience of what true love is like…..

  3. I believe love is teachable just like hate is. Growing up I was taught I need to make men do for me I was never taught how a man should love me nor how I should love a man. I believe your childhood should teach you a thing or two about love. Learning from your parents or around you. A person can also teach you how to love them you just have to listen.
