Inscrutable Japan?
Imagine an homogeneous people
Separated by customary formality
Trying to find ways around their traditions
And get close.

Inscrutable America?
Imagine a diverse people
Separated by customary informality
Trying to find ways around their “friendliness”
And make their alleged closeness
Real.
